Great operating tests!

Try This ultimate test. With the sander running hold the main hose 6 Inches away from the dust pipe exhaust port. Move it in closer. As you get closer does the dust system suck up all the air or is their blowby? When you are ½” or less away there should not be air blowing out if the dust system can outdo the vacuum on the sander. If there is vacuum (air being drawn into the hose-dust pipe junction) than the dust system is adding vacuum pickup to the sander’s onboard vacuum.

Edger test! When sanding does the edger pickup existing dust in front of the edger? This usually is more noticeable with a dust skirt on the edger. Check this out with the big sander running!

Locate the dust blower system outside and run a 5" 50 foot hose inside. Tee off with a triple wye to one 3" and two 2" 50 foot hoses. All of the dust from the machines is drawn outside, including all the air from the room you are working in!

Get increased dust pickup by removing the bag from your sander. The blower draws the dust to the dust collection system outside. Instead of dust blowing through the sander dust bag, the dust is collected outside where blow - by dust escapes into the outdoors! Also, because of the large amount of air being moved a negative pressure is created inside which helps stop the spread of dust into surrounding areas!

WE do not recommend plastic bags for use on our system. Keeping and disposing of plastic garbage bags with sanding dust is a major FIRE HAZZARD! Our 3 Cloth bags have an 18" wide opening and dump FAST! Just dispose of the dust properly and spread it out to reduce spontaneous combustion.
